Port of Seattle selects developer for 87-acre Des Moines Creek Business Park
The Port of Seattle has selected a developer for the Des Moines Creek Business Park project – Panattoni Development Company, Inc. – a privately-held real estate development firm headquartered in Newport Beach, California. Highline Public Schools offering free Summer Lunches for local children
Highline Public Schools announced Thursday (June 13) that it will be providing free breakfast, lunch and snacks to children during the summer through the Simplified Summer Food Program (SSFP). Twelve Highline schools will join five community organizations to serve children living in South King County. Meals will be free to children 18 years old and younger, and a child does not need to be a Highline Public School student to participate. Registration is not required. Major apartment fire in Des Moines displaces 18 families Monday morning

On Wednesday night (June 5), the Highline Schools Foundation announced the winners of the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (STIA) Scholarship for 2013: This scholarship is a needs-based scholarship and is awarded annually to three graduating seniors from Highline School District who will be pursuing a college education. Two students from Des Moines' Aviation High School will take part in the Washington Aerospace Scholars (WAS) Summer Residency program, the Highline School District announced Monday (June 3). Aviation students Abigail Jarve and Mahekdeep Singh are among 160 talented juniors from across the state who will participate in the free science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education program.
