Mount Rainier High’s Sebastian Martinez has been awarded the coveted position of Honors Research Student and will sail with Titanic Discoverer Dr. Robert Ballard's Nautilus Exploration Program during their 2013 expedition season. Highline Community College’s Marine Science and Technology Center (MaST) announced the launch of their new “Got Caps?” plastic bottle cap collection campaign, which will twist off on Saturday, June 8th from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. The MaST Center is partnering with community organizations and local schools to collect bottle caps to prevent accumulation in our landfills. The caps will be reused for eco-art educational projects and distributed to partnering organizations for proper recycling. The Highline School District announced Tuesday (May 14) that "more extensive staff training and strong coordination with local law enforcement are the hallmarks of a proposal to improve safety and security" at local schools.
