As the Des Moines area woke up this morning, after listening to howling winds all night, we all came face-to-face with what Mother Nature unleashed on us – a massive amount of damage from a devastating windstorm that had gusts as high as 59MPH at Sea-Tac Airport.
Combine those high winds with a high tide (around 8:30 a.m.) and you’ve got a recipe for a mess.
We hear that there was a considerable amount of damage to the Highline College MaST Center in Redondo, that the north parking lot of the Des Moines Marina was flooded, and that logs and debris are seemingly everywhere.
Waterland Blog Photographer David Sharpe went out and took some pics, and we also received some from Janel Stoneback and Mel Ponder (click images to see larger versions):

Mel Ponder always a great job, right in the place and the moment, thank you for share this moment in picture for us,,
Thank you, Patricio, Only the Saltwater State Parks are mine
David Sharpe caught the high tide devastation.
