Governor Gregoire Involved In Collision Near Des Moines Monday


The Washington State Patrol is reporting that Monday afternoon (Sept. 26) at around 2 p.m., Governor Christine Gregoire’s official vehicle was sideswiped on I-5 near SR-516 in Des Moines by another vehicle while she was returning from an event in the Seattle area.

The Governor was not injured nor was the other driver.

“As always, the Governor was accompanied by a security detail from the State Patrol,” read a release from the Washington State Patrol. “Other troopers responded to the scene for the collision investigation and the Governor has returned to Olympia. The Governor is transported in a variety of vehicles, today she was traveling in a Suburban.”
