Start:
January 1, 1970 12:00 am

Des Moines Parks and Recreation has joined forces to offer fun and games at the Landmark on the Sound’s annual “Halloween at the Haunted Castle,” coming up Sunday, Oct. 31st from 6:30pm – 9pm.

Perhaps this will be the year that “George,” the resident ghost, shows himself to you? Or your kids?

Cost is $5 per adult, $2 per child, and this will also serve as a benefit for the Des Moines Area Food Bank.

According to the city:

This combined event will replace the former Halloween Carnival at the Field House, so be sure to join the other boys and ghouls in the fun at Landmark on the Sound this Halloween. Sunday, October 31st from 6:30pm – 9pm the Landmark will become a Haunted Castle where guests come calling in search of George, the resident ghost. Ride the elevator to the 5th floor, then take a haunted walk back to the lobby on the long, dark, winding ramp. Expect plenty of spooky sights and hidden surprises.

In addition to the haunts, there will be a festive carnival room on the main floor appropriate for kids of all ages, complete with treats for all.

A $5/Adult or $2/Child suggested donation will be collected with all proceeds benefitting Des Moines Area Food Bank programs.  For more information on this event, contact Landmark on the Sound Event Coordinator Amber Fish at (206) 878-8434/ext. 103 or visit Landmark on the Sound.

I knew a gentleman by the name of George M Ford that lived on the 4th or 5th floor of the Masonic Home during the late 1970s. Me and my sister used to visit him from time to time. He was very nice guy and very outgoing. I wonder if thats the same George they are talking about in the home? Has TAPS ever been contacted to investigate the place?
