Greg, you obviously have not driven over to Tukwila to take the light rail into Seattle. Unless we're going to a movie other than downtown,, we take the train, and find it quite convenient and wonderful. So do many people who attend sporting events. There's a stop right by the stadiums, as well as stops in all the 'hoods along the Rainier Valley.

As you may know, Seattle is far behind the times when it comes to mass transit, and i believe it's the best thing to happen to us in a long time.

So this is what the added sales tax and extra license fees have helped pay for. A rail system to make easier for Seatac air passengers get into Seattle.
I'm sorry, but I don't see that as anything that makes Des Moines a better place to live especially since it won't be extended this far south during our lifetime.
I just can't help think that all that money would have been better spent on education, added police, parks or maybe lessening that pesky 9.5% sales tax, but at least it's done unlike Seattles highway (soon to be a tunnel) that has needed to be replaced for a very long time (and still is a long ways off from being built).
I wonder how much extra we'll have to pay for that?
