Des Moines Farmers Market Open Wednesdays From July 22nd To Aug. 19th

The Des Moines Farmers Market has announced that it will be open on Wednesdays, from July 22nd through August 19th, from 3pm to 7pm at the usual spot in South Marina Park.

This special Wednesday market is in addition to the usual Saturday one, which runs from 10am to 2pm. The market will run for four hours prior to the Jazz and Blues Series, which starts at 7pm at Beach Park, and most of the usual vendors will be there. In addition to all the yummy food and healthy fruits and veggies usually available, DMFM has partnered with Emerald City Cove Catering for delicious boxed dinners to take to the concerts.

According to DMFM’s Debra Jackson:

“I will call in orders to Emerald Cove every Monday before the concerts or they can be ordered at Emerald Cove (17825 1st Ave, Normandy Park; 206-431-2683) for pick up at the concert. Corky Cellars has order forms but money and orders must be brought to the market the previous Saturday. This is a fundraiser for the market. There will be a limited number of dinners available for sale without pre-order but it’s first-come first-serve. Checks should be made out to Des Moines Waterfront Farmers Market or DMFM.”

Volunteers for the market will be available to take your boxed dinner order at the market at the DMFM booth.

BTW, Debra would like our readers to know that DMFM will have an entry in the parade Saturday, and decorating will take place at the market.
